Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a nurse and I get my flu shot annually. I just got one yesterday and over night I was EXTREMELY ill. I was nauseous, my body was stiff and I had a horrible headache. Today there is a 6inch area near the injection site that is patchy red, lumpy, and very sore. I have never had this reaction before. Can you tell me why this happened?
Hello and welcome to HCM,
The annual flu that you are getting may be seasonal associated with infection.
You need to take symptomatic treatment for the flu.
Red colored patchy red injection site can be due to reaction at the injection site.
I suggest you to consult your primary healthcare provider for clinical assessment of the injection site.
Further management can be planned after clinical assessment.
HI Well come to HCM The over all symptom could be due to hypersensitivity reaction, this some time aggravate due to emotional stress, else this can be best treated with Tab Loratidine three times in day take care (Comment:- Immune symptoms some time get affected with some kind of functional conditions )
