Suggest Treatment For Muscle Weakness, Pins And Needles In Feet

I have been using 40 mg pantoprazole for years for acid reflux. I have had my gall bladder removed several years ago. I am experiencing muscle weakness, pins and needles in my feet, they burn and the toes and finger tips feel like wood. I have been taking an iron supplement for a month, as the doctor suggested and I am waiting for an appointment with a specialist. Online I have seen some connection between the drug and these symptoms, what is your opinion? Is there some other way to treat the heart burn? Is the numb feeling reversible, etc. what are the questions I should be asking the specialist?

Hi

Thanks for posting your query.

First of all , if you are taking oral iron supplements it can keep causing heartburn. Hence ask your doctor to replace oral iron supplement with Injectable iron .

Now I don't think there is any connection between Pantoprezole and your numbness and weakness. It could be due to diabetes or vitamin B12 deficiency.

Hence I recommend you to get tested for diabetes and vitamin B12 levels and revert back with reports.

You can continue using Pantoprezole.

Hope this information was useful to you.
Any clarification feel free to ask.

Regards.
