Suggest Treatment For Muscle Weakness In Both Legs

I have been having muscle weakness in both legs for over a year. A few days ago, I awoke in the morning with extreme pain in the right thigh. Very painful to touch - stinging, burning feeling. That has since decreased but remains numb, tingling with occasional periods of stinging/burning pain. Right leg weakness is more noticeable. Right leg feels heavy. What could this be?

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

I have studied your case,

Due to compression of nerve root there can be sensation in leg and thigh pain
I will advise you to do MRI spine

Another possibility of can be peripheral neuropathy due to pre diabetes, alcohol, hypothyroidism ect.
Blood work up and EMG-NCV [nerve conduction] study will help.

For these symptoms methylcobalamine and neurotropic medication like amitryptiline can be started consulting your doctor.
I will advise to check your vit B12 and vit D3 level.
Epidural steroid shot can help if no relief with medication.

Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.

Wishing you good health.

Take care.
