Suggest Treatment For Mouth Infection After Extraction Of Wisdom Tooth

Hi dr,
I am 23 female I had 3 wisdom extracted over a week ago now
I was in hospital 2 days ago with an infection in my mouth and was put on heavier antibiotics
I have stopped taking any painkills as I can't handle feeling sick anymore and trying to illiminate anything that is contributing, obviously I and stop the antibiotics.
Everything hurts and my head is pounding nauseous and severely constipated
Should I got to the gp or wait it out?
I feel so sick I don't think this is normal

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of mouth infection after extraction of wisdom tooth which occurs because of persistence of tooth infection leading to facial space infection and it could be due to excessive tissue laceration as force required for extraction of wisdom tooth is very much and due to impingement of nerve endings. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to visit oral surgeon once and get complete examination done. You should get oral pantomograph done and start treatment after complete examination. You should take proper course of antibiotics and get dental procedure done. Maintain complete oral hygiene by use of antimicrobial agent. Keep applying ice packs on jaw line on daily basis.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
