Suggest Treatment For Mild Fever And Vomiting In A Child

my nephew is 2 and he is sick and is throwing up. He hasn t eaten or drank very much in the last couple of days and I think he is running a mild fever. He is sleeping all the time and his eyes look so weak it is so sad to look at him. He went to the doctor the one day last week and they said he had infection in his ears but this doesn t look like infection to me it looks more he could have the flu. Could u tell me what I should tell his family what to do?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Child is suffering from mild fever and vomiting and you have rule out ear infection also. So child may be suffering from respiratory infection such as cold, cough and loose motions. If child has only mild fever and vomiting then give Syrup Paracetamol three times daily according to weight and ORS solution on demand. Along with fever if there is cold for 2-3 days and fever doent respond to paracetamol then add antibiotic syrup like amox or azithromycin and syrup cetrizine.
Thank you.
