Suggest Treatment For Mild Fever And Blood In Urine

Hi I went to my doctor last Monday for trouble urinating. I had a low fever 99.2 and he gave me urine test. Some blood in urine but no infection. He suspects kidney stones. I used sulfur based medicine for a week 3X a day seemed to work good. Haven t taking a pill in 12 plus hours pain is back trying to urinate. I have no more pills. I just took 2 aleve. I ll call my doctor in AM I have a 12:00 flight for golf trip for 5 days. This sucks. Any advice? I m drinking lots of water now too and took 2 AZO at 3 hours ago. I have flowmax prescription still 10 left that may help too.

Hi,

In most cases, this is a sign of uroinfection or kidneys stones. This is mainly self limiting and doesnt require any specific treatment and you should just be patient and have fluids to promote urination.

Less likely it may indicate possible bleeding in urethra, bladder or kidneys from a popped vessel or some other cause.

If this continues you should do a urine analysis, urinoculture and kidneys ultrasound to rule these main causes out.

You should drink raspberry tea and plenty of water till you do tests. Also, avoid sexual intercourse and have kept good hygiene.

You should reduce salt in your diet as well since this could lead to increased risk of urinary stone formation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
