hello mother /father of child, intially the doctor started him on conservative treatment by drugs which decreases congestion and cough (ie about alerid) as most of them are viral cause as, it was not relived the doctor now trying to kill the agent responsible cough and congestion by antibiotics. if relived it will be ok. even if this is not relived by this please dont change the doctor we need to invistigate for causing agent by culture and sentivity test and we need to change drug. thanku.
