I m 48 years old and suffer from two types of migraines. I have vision disturbances from them and my vision goes drak. After the symptoms subsides I feel very drained and worn out. I have been told I have lesions on my brain and have very shaky hands. I forgot to mention that I shake uncontrollably during my attacks of migraines.

Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries

I can understand your concern. You have migraine and have complaints of shakiness during the migrainous attacks. These symptoms need proper evaluation. Shakiness in uncontrollable manner could occur due to some seizure disorder. An EEG can help to find out any seizure focus during migraine attacks. Once the seizure is ruled out then the treatment becomes easier.

For severe migraine headaches medicines like Amitriptyline, Nortriptyline, Sodium Valoproate etc are used commonly. These medicines will reduce the aura symptoms associated with migraine also. For preventing the episodes medicines like beta blockers as Propranolol, Atenolol etc can be used. These medicine help to prevent the episodes and provided prophylaxis cover. For severe pain relief OTC analgesics like Ibuprofen or Acetaminophen can be used. For more severe pain Sumatriptan is advised usually. Please consult a psychiatrist for proper evaluation of your symptoms and for prescription of these drugs.

Thanks, Hope this helps you. Take care
