Suggest Treatment For Melisma

I got melisma on my face 12 years ago when I was pregnant with my daughter. it was on my cheeks and above my lips mainly. Over the years it has spread away from there to most of the sides of my face but it is patchy with normal color skin circles mixed in with the brown areas Is it expensive to get rid of the brown patches?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi.
As per your case history of melasma, my treatment advice is -
1. Avoid sun exposure and use a good sunscreen lotion with spf more than 30.
2. Take a vitamin b12 supplement once daily for 3 months.
3. Apply a glycolic acid lotion like glyaha lotion once at night on dark spots.
4. Other treatment options are topical steroid, kojivit acid cream, chemical peeling done by dermatologist.

Thanks.
Dr. Harshit bhachech.
MBBS, DDVL.
