Suggest Treatment For Lump On The Ankles

I found a pea sized lump on my ankle at the very bottom of my shin. I found it a week ago. It is firm and hard. Hurts just a little if I press it hard. Today I finished my last round of chemo therapy for breast cancer. I am 36 years old and my second time having breast cancer. I had a double mastectomy in 2012, yet still got breast cancer again in 2014. My level of anxiety could be high at times. Is this something I should be concerned about??

Hi,

Since you have breast cancer and are undergoing treatment for it. I would advice you to get a biopsy done for the lump to rule out any malignancy spread. There are other causes for such lumps in that area however getting it ruled out is very necessary keeping you history of illness in mind.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Anoop Kumar, General & Family Physician
