Suggest Treatment For Lump On Frenulum Of Tongue

My 10 yr old daughter seems to have a canchor or lump on her frenulum ( under her tongue) and one side of her face appears some what swollen. She began to complain of some discomfort under her tongue this afternoon and that when i saw the sore/blister/lump. I gave her advil hoping to help and it did but then she said one side of her face/neck/gland area is swollen and she says it feels sore there now. We intend to keep an eye on it and her but is there anything else we should do? should we be concerned?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have lump on frenulum of tongue which could be due to injury caused by eating any hard and rough food items and it could be due to canker sores. Well ulceration on the tongue as in your case need proper medical evaluation. The probable causes can be foreign body granuloma, benign lump of the muscles and infection in the cut. This can be ascertained only by a clinical examination, FNAC or Excision biopsy s that you will get histo-pathological diagnosis to be certain what the disease is and carry on further treatment if needed. Consult oral pathologist for proper diagnosis and start treatment. Avoid taking sharp and oily food substances.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
