Suggest Treatment For Lower Back Pain And Achy Legs

My lower back has been hurting along with my legs aching. I am spot bleeding and have had all these things over the past couple of months. 47 year old active female who runs 3 miles 4x a week plays softball and hockey and coaches. Did a blood test for lymes and X-rays of the back. Lymes was negative as was arthritis. Very frustrated. Thoughts.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I would like to suggest some diagnostics:
1. Complete Blood Test
2. MRI of the back
3. Electromyography of the leg muscles
4. ECG
5. Thyroid Function Test (T3, T4, TSH)
6. Blood level for Albumin
7. Estrogen and Progesterone level

I strongly feel it can be due to your menopause. Do you feel flushing, heat or feels irritated? If it is due to menopause, it should go gradually. If the symptoms are severe enough for you, then we can start Hormone Replacement Therapy. Though, I have given you all other possible tests not to leave any chance. Meanwhile, take rest, eat good foods, try to avoid alcohol and coffee, do not carry out heavy exercise or activities.

Do not worry. Please post those results and a doctor will give you the next course of treatment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dipan Samanta, General & Family Physician
