Suggest Treatment For Lower Abdominal Pain And IBS
Hello. I have had lower abdominal pain for the past few days and I am not sure why. It feels like period cramps. I had unprotected sex about five days ago but I am on contraceptives so chances of pregnancy are quite low. I am known to have stomach problems, possibly IBS. I am not sure if I should go to the doctor or wait until this pain goes away on its own. Thank you
Your abdominal pain could be due to IBS, premenstrual symptoms. I would suggest to consult the authorized gastroenterologist and take proper treatment.Following treatment will helpful: Tablet Dicyclomine twice daily, Tablet Imipramine at bedtime, Tablet Rifaxim three times a day. Sublingual tablet of Vitamin B12 and folic acid.
Take soluble fiber like senna. Take small frequent meal rather than large meal. Drink plenty of water (4-5 L/day). Avoid spicy/oily/fatty food. Do regular exercise like walking, running, 45 minutes in the morning followed by meditation for 20 minutes. Avoid stress. Consult the gastroenetrologist to share my opinion and take proper prescribed drugs.
Hope this may help you. Contact further if follow up needed.
Best regards, Dr. Sagar
