Suggest Treatment For Lower Abdominal And Back Pain That Radiates To The Legs

Hello, I am a 32 year old female. I have been having an extra long period that lasted 9 days with bleeding and severe lower abdominal and lower back pain with the pain radiating down my legs. I also had some vomiting and pooping. The bleeding stopped but now I am having lower left side abdominal pain and I just pooped but it looked like large pebbles and was very mucus-y and some blood was in the mucus. What should I do and what could be the cause of these symptoms??

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello
I understand your concern.

Diarrhea can be a part of gynaecological disorder. However,Blood and mucous in stools with abdominal pain denote bacterial enteritis.
It has to be treated with an antibiotic course like metronidazole or oflaxacin ornidazole combination drug for 3-5 days.

You also had prolonged bleeding of 9 days with abdominal pain.
Have you experienced such symptoms before?
Are you on any medications?
You need to get your USG pelvis done to rule out fibroids or endometriosis which can cause prolonged menstrual bleeding.Meet your gynaecologist in that regard.
It is managed through drugs like danazol or low dose contraceptive pills. If fibroids are large causing pressure symptoms, surgical options like myomectomy may be considered.

Hope this information helps.
Feel free to ask any more doubt.
