Suggest Treatment For Low Grade Fever And Severe Joint Pain

About 6 months ago I had an increase in joint pain primarily in my knees, beyond any pain that I had before, I became lethargic and could barely move at times. I have improved some and now my 26 year old son that lives with me is having some of the same symptoms. Could this be a joint virus of some sort? I have had a low grade fever on an off over the last month.
