Suggest Treatment For Low Hb Due To Microcytic Hypochromic Anemia

My Father is diabetic for the last ten years,but during last 3 years his hb value is varying from 7.6-8.8 gm.He has hypothyrodism,htn,.Test indicate microcytic hyprochromic anemia with 600 ferritin level.His serum electrophoris,no abnormal cell detected in blood test, ultrasound normal.

Hi,
Hemoglobin appears to be maintaining a bit on the low to moderate side and at this age, could lead to cardiac failure due to hemodynamic stress on heart.
Microcytic hypochromic anemia with raised ferritin level and normal serum electrophoresis usually indicates anemia of chronic disease.
Its a condition in which iron cannot be used up for production of RBC and hence RBC production gets affected resulting in microcytic hypochromic anemia.
Possible cause could be hypothyroidism, if untreated and chronic inflammation secondary to maybe diabetes.
