Suggest Treatment For Loose Stool Despite Taking Zantac

For 2 weeks now, everything that I eat goes right through me. I have had diarrhea for two weeks. I have not had a solid stool in 2 weeks in the very beginning it was green but now the color is normal but I still cannot have a stool normally. I had taken Zantac, bread, bananas, peanut butter and jelly, and I don’t know what kind of food to eat to make my solid again. I have been on the same medications for years so I know it is inot the medication. I am going to see an endocrinologist tomorrow for my thyroid. I was wondering if I should go to the gastrointestinal doctor. Help!!

Hello my name is Dr Dorina Gurabardhi.
I understand your concern.
I suggest you to do:
-a blood test
-a stool test to rule out any cause of your symptoms.
Meanwhile you can:
-use over the counter option like loperamide
-Drink water, broth, or an electrolyte solution, which will replace the minerals that you lose with diarrhea.
- Get plenty of rest.
Hope it helps.
Kind regards !
