Suggest Treatment For Liver Cirriosis

I have liver cirriosis and my legs and feet are severely retaining water. Water is dripping out slowly from legs. I am subscribed 40 mg water pill taking one in morning and one in pm. I try and watch my sodium and fluid intake. Any other suggestions?

Hello,

You can have portal hypertension because of cirrhosis. Diuretic usually prescribes for decreasing edema fluid. Which you have been prescribed. Take a low salt diet. Moreover, if needed beta-blocker group drug can be added to control portal hypertension. If you vomit blood, then immediately consult to the nearby emergency room for band ligation or sclerotherapy. Consult gastroenterologist for examination.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Parth Goswami
