Hi there,

I'm glad you stopped the oxycodone. You're absolutely correct in knowing that anything with tylenol can further damage your liver. I'd recommend staying away from the oral pain medications if you can help it, as it will make things worse.

Narcotics in general, such as vicodin, norco, and oxycodone will all cause constipation. This isn't really caused by your liver cirrhosis, and the constipation should resolve once you get off the oxycodone. You can try over the counter miralax to help with the constipation.

In terms of your liver, I'd definitely recommend you see a liver specialist (hepatologist) and stay away from fatty foods, alcohol and tylenol as these can all cause further damage to your liver. Your primary care can help out by checking your liver enzymes, getting a liver ultrasound, and checking your alpha-fetoprotein level (marker for liver cancer). This should be repeated every 6 months.

I hope I have answered your question. Please feel free to contact me if you have any further questions or if you feel I haven't adequately answered your question.
