Hi,

Lichen planus is an inflammatory skin condition, characterized by an itchy and non infectious rash which consists of shiny, flat topped, polygonal, small pink or purple bumps on the arms, legs, scalp, nails, genital area and the inside of the mouth. No specific cure for lichen planus is available. In most cases, usually lichen planus on the skin goes away without any medical treatment in a few months to two years. But some treatments may help relieve the symptoms of lichen planus. Topical corticosteroid creams or ointments, antihistamines, immunosuppressant medications like tacrolimus, azathioprine or cyclosporine, retinoids, phototherapy etc are the available treatment options for reducing the symptoms. But you can consult your dermatologist for chosing the best and effective treatment option for you.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
