Suggest Treatment For Leukocytosis And Low Grade Fever

My13 year old daughter has not been feeling well for about a month. She was diagnosed with mesenteric adenitis. I was told she also has mild leukocytosis. She had more lab work yesterday because she is still not feeling well and has an overall feeling of abdominal discomfort and has continued to have a low grade fever (100.2). The labs that have come back so far show she is anemic and still has leukocytosis. I waiting a for one more test to come back for Celiac Disease but I am wondering if I should be worried that is something more serious.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

It is unlikely anything serious or life-threatening. If she can function in her everyday life at the moment it is fine to wait for the lab results. She should probably also have an abdominal ultrasound and upper endoscopy with biopsies at some point.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Anders Mark Christensen, General Surgeon
