Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I woke up with laryngitis two days ago. I cannot talk at all but then by mid afternoon I get my voice back. During the night it reoccurs. I don t have a fever, my throat feels a bit sore and sometimes feels like I have something in it... I think it is a bit swollen. Will it go away on it s own?
The fact that it worsens at night may be related to the decrease in temperature that occurs at night.
Since it is an acute problem (started recently), then it is likely to go on its own with symptomatic treatment. This means that you should rest your voice as much as possible during day.
The use of humidifiers and gargles/oral sprays may also help.
I hope this helps
