Suggest Treatment For Kidney Stone Trapped In Ureter

I have a stone trapped in my ureter which supposedly rolled down from my kidney...it's apprx. 5-6mm in size according to a K.U.B X-ray. I have been put on a conservative management and told to increase my water intake hoping to flush out the stone in urine
I want to know is it possible that the stone may get stuck i gall bladder too or will it pass out in urine

Hi Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern.
There are several factors which influence the ability to pass a stone. These include the size of the person, prior stone passage, prostate enlargement, and the size of the stone.
A 4 mm stone has an 80% chance of passage. Whereas a 5-6 mm stone has 20 % chance of passage.
Following Treatment may be further needed if stone remains stuck
1. lithotripsy- a procedure in which ultrasonic shock waves are used to break stone into smaller ones so that they pass ureter easily
2.Surgical techniques like laproscopic surgery would be used for stones which do not pass through ureter on their own.
Ketorolac , an anti-inflammatory drug, and narcotics may be used for pain control in severe pain. Aspirin, and NSAIDs must be avoided if lithotripsy is to be done because of the increased risk of bleeding.

Hope this information helps
