General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

Chikungunya virus is spread by mosquitoes and causes severe joint and muscle pain.
The patients may experience joint pain for months to years after the initial infection.
I suggest using anti inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the pain.
I also suggest using cold compresses for local application.

Hope my answer was helpful.

If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Kind regards!
