Suggest Treatment For Itchy Red Rashes On Legs And Ankles

I have a red spotty rash mostly on my ankles and legs. It is very itchy and is more bumpy on other parts of my body. even my cheeks and eyebrows, but it s only really itchy on my ankles. It s been there for about 4 days and I have been using Gold Bond medicated lotion and yesterday started with Cortizone 10 and I have taken OTC allergy pills twice a day. Now the rash is still there and my ankles are stiff, swollen and achy.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to an allergic dermatitis.
I recommend using a steroid cream for local application. I also suggest to use an antihistamine such as Cetirizine 10 mg daily.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
