Suggest Treatment For Itchy Red Rashes On Arms

I have a red rash just on my arms. I was on amoxicillin for ten days after a root canal . Two days after finishing my meds, my forearms were red and itching. Two days later it has progressed to my upper arms. The rash is no where else on my body. I have taken Benadryl 25 the last 2 nights , but see little improvement. Any suggestions?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns.

As per your complain it seems like allergic reaction to some known or unknown allergen and can be due to amoxicillin but as you have withdrawn its intake chances of it causing allergic reaction are less.
You can continue taking benadryl and along with it do cool compresses over the rash and apply steroid ointment over it..
In case if it does not subside or there is recurring episodes consult an Allergist and get evaluated and allergic tests like Patch test, RAST test can help in diagnosis and treatment can be planned accordingly..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
