Suggest Treatment For Itchy Blisters On The Body

My husband is on diclofenac sod ec 25mg. Started on the meds early summer...now has a rash that develops into blisters and itches so bad have to put cortisone cream and spray on him but it still itches..his Dr says he shouldn t be having this reaction and says it is nerves. He is also on metformin hcl 500mgs and some stomach aid for the arthritis meds above. It looks like a blister and when he scratches it, it oozes clear liquid. Like spots here and there on his lower legs and back of thighs...a patch on one hip?? What can we do to relieve the symptoms?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms of your husband seem to be related to shingles. I recommend using Tylenol to relieve the pain. You can also use acyclovir cream for local application at the area of the blisters.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
