Suggest Treatment For Itchy And Sore Throat

I take Klor-Con, Atorvastatin and Hydrochlorothiazide. I have taken the hydrochorothiazide for over a year and the Klor-Con and Atorvastatin within the last eight or nine months. I have noticed that since I have started the later two drugs mentioned that my throat is itchy and seems sore or irritated frequently. I have an appointment with my doctor in January. Should I call her now? Could one or both these medications cause the itchy, irritated throat?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It could be an allergic reaction. As a first line management you can take antihistamines like cetrezine for symptomatic relief. You can also do warm saline gargles. If symptoms persists better to consult an ENT specialist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your queries. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
