Suggest Treatment For Irritation In Hands And Feet While On Montair-LC
I AM 25 YEARS OLD FEMALE. I HAVE DNS PROBLEM I.E. DEVIATED NASAL SEPTUM. I GOT TO KNOW ABOUT THIS PROBLEM ABOUT 1 AND A HALF YEAR AGO. AND I DONT WANT TO GET OPERATED. DOCTOR ASKED ME TO GET OPERATED. OR HE PRESCRIBED ME A MEDICINE THAT IS.. CIPLA MONTAIR-LC (MONTELUKAST SODIUM & LEVOCETIRIZINE HYDROCHLORIDE TABLETS) SO THAT THE PROBLEM DOES NOT EXCEED. I AM TAKING THESE TABLETS NOW FOR MORE THAN A YEAR. NOW IF I FORGOT TO TAKE THESE TABLETS OR SKIP THE TABLET.. I START SNEEZING AND I ALSO FEEL SOME KIND OF IRRITATION IN MY HANDS AND FEET.. HANDS TURN RED AND HOT ALSO. SO IS THIS ANY KIND OF SIDE EFFECT.. PLEASE TELL ME WHAT TO DO.
Rashes or inflammation appearing in the hands and the feet are side effects of the medication you have been taking. It looks like you are almost addicted to it.
Ideally, if you have DNS, you should go for surgery so that your allergic reactions gets reduced. You can take some other brands antihistamine (antiallergic) that suits you better. Report to your treating doctor & get a follow-up treatment done.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
