I am 32 yrs old having a f.baby, now i am not able to get my periods regularly.i consult with my GYno.she recomended me to take norgest, within 6days i got my periods.this continued for 3cycles with help pf tab only i am able to get my cycles.is there any alternate medicine for this or i have to face any sideffect of using norgest in future.pls reply me. And too i am having PCOS.
Having a baby and breastfeeding also makes your periods irregular. You have to follow a contraceptive if you are sexually active. Otherwise do not worry about having irregular periods. It gets regular after you stop breastfeeding.
This is not a reason to stop breastfeeding. I would suggest you continue till your baby is 1 year old and wean off from breast milk. You can expect a little delay in periods getting regular after you stop breastfeeding. If your periods doesn't resume 3 months after you breastfeed, reach out to local GP or gynecologist for check up. Healthy eating and physical activity of 30 mins per days whenever you find time can help you control PCODhormonal changes.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
