Hello,

While it is not common for pinworm infestations to persist for such a long time, it is possible for some cases to be more difficult to treat than others.

Here are some additional steps you can take to help get rid of the pinworms:
1. Practice good hygiene: Wash your hands and your body thoroughly with soap and warm water several times a day, especially before eating, after using the bathroom, and before going to bed.
2. Wash clothing and bedding frequently: Wash all clothing, bedding, and towels in hot water and dry them in a hot dryer to kill any eggs or worms that may be present.
3. Vacuum your home regularly: Vacuum your home daily, especially the areas where you spend the most time, such as your bedroom and living room. Dispose the vacuum bag or canister appropriately outside your home.
4. Treat all family members: It's important to treat all members of your household, even if they don't have symptoms of pinworms, as they may be carriers and can re-infect you.

If the pinworm infestation persists despite taking Pyrantel and Albendazole, you may need to speak with your doctor about alternative medications or treatments. Your doctor may recommend a prescription medication, such as mebendazole or ivermectin, which are effective against pinworms. It's important to follow your doctor's instructions for taking the medication, as well as any additional precautions they recommend.

In some cases, it may also be helpful to take a probiotic supplement to help restore the balance of beneficial bacteria in your gut. A healthy gut microbiome can help support your immune system and improve your body's ability to fight off infections. I hope these suggestions are helpful in getting rid of your pinworm infestation. If you continue to have symptoms or have concerns, I recommend speaking with your doctor for further advice and guidance.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
