Suggest Treatment For Interstitial Cystitis

I have been advised to go on Premarin vaginal cream for symptoms of interstitial cystitis. I have a family history of breast cancer and am currently on Levothyroxin and raloxifene. I also have flare ups of polymyalgia rheumatica for which I start with 10 mg Prednisone and wean down to about 2, where I am currently. Coincidentally, the Prednisone also relieves the IC symptoms. Which do you feel has more chance of side effects for me, low dose Prednisone or the Premarin cream?
