Suggest Treatment For Intermittent Stomach Pain And Diarrhea While On Flagyl For Close To A Week

First my husband got severe diarrhea. He took Flagyl fo 3 days 2wice a day... He stopped so later symptoms came again he was advised Ciproxin with Flagyl. With the first dose he had numbness in his fingers. So he stopped. He is taking Flagyl today is the 5th day but he has intermittent stomach pain and motions are loose but not frequent. What is your advise?

Hello,

Your husband had severe diarrhea. He has taken Flagyl but has intermittent stomach pain & loose motion is controlled than before. Your husband is advised to take PPIs, one stat when stomach pain for relieve. He should take boiled water after cooling. Your husband is advised to take home made boiled food that should include few pieces of toast, boiled raw bananas, mashed and served with a little salt. He should take a bowl of sago (sabudana) boiled in plain water & served with a little sugar.

He should avoid taking food cooked in oil, he should not take spicy, hot food. He is not advised to take packaged food, processed food. Numbness and tingling of the extremities can be a side effect of Flagyl. He may not take Flagyl. Diet control will help to control loose motion. Give him sago and boiled mashed bananas regularly. He should not take any raw food. He is advised to take only well-cooked homemade food.
