General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I am sorry for the health situation you are going through.

Itchiness on extremities for such long time (years) as you are reporting might be related to:
- eczema
- fungal infection
- bacterial infection

which has not been treated properly so far.

The best way to find out if it is an infection or eczema, I'd advise to run:
- examination of skin scrappings under microscopy (10% KOH)
- culture of skin swab (if the skin is open)
- biopsy of local skin

Hope it was of help!
