Suggest Treatment For Insomnia And Lack Of Appetite

For eight weeks, my friend has experienced insomnia and a lack of appetite. He says he can eat only a small amount of food without having to throw up. He still rides his bike for hours a day and is likely not replenishing this calcium, antioxidants, and calories (gathered from my own speculation after asking him a series of questions). I imagine he hasn t been eating right for a long time. I have suggested a change in diet and to keep off the bike, but his condition is keeping him from eating much, and he is not willing to change his exercise habits. I m afraid he s using calories he doesn t have by riding his bike, and doing his body serious damage from oxidative stress. I also feel he has a calcium deficiency, which could be causing the insomnia. Is there anything else you can suggest? Is there any way to diagnose what he has? He is scheduled to see a doctor weeks from now, but I feel he needs immediate attention.
