Suggest Treatment For Insect Bite

wife appears to have been bitten by some kind of spider, (my guess is the brown recluce). the site of the bite is swollen and red. the wound is seeping a red blood ooze/puss. we have been to a urgent care local in town, got a shot of antibiotic and oral antibiotic, yesterday. tonight she has the cold and hot flashes and cold sweets in her sleep. used a heating pad and in pack. this is all within the last 36 hours. what else to do?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that along with allergic reaction to the toxin injected by the spider bite under the skin of your wife there is also an infection at the site of bite leading to pus discharge..

I would suggest you to continue taking antibiotics but along with it you should also take anti-allergics like Allegra or Benadryl.
Clean the area with antiseptic solution and apply Triple Antibiotic ointment over it..
Do cool compresses and avoid scratching the area if there is itching..

In case of no resolution or it the symptoms of cold and hot flashes becomes severe consult an Emergency room and get evaluated,,
