Suggest Treatment For Insect Bite Which Swelled Up Now

I had some type of bite on my neck about two inches into my hair line. It swelled up to the size of a gumball and oozed PUss. I cleaned it and applied anti bacterial ointment for a few days and it send to be healing however yesterday my neck was very tense and excruciatingly painful. I noticed a oboe about tee size of a cherry about two inches down from my hair line and it is extremely painful and my neck muscles are still tensed up. What should I do?

Hello,
Thank you for posting on HCM.
Insect bites are usually pretty easy to treat unless secondary infection sets in.
I would suggest you consult a dermatologist, who would suggest you short course of oral antibiotics and analgesics. Oral corticosteroids may be added as required. Apply a cream containing mupirocin for 5 days followed by a cream containing Betamethsone and fusidic acid twice a day over affected areas for atleast 5 days. Take antihistaminics for itching as required.
Hope this will take care of your issue.
Wish you best of health.
Thank you
