Suggest Treatment For Insect Bite On Hand

I woke up last Wednesday with what i thought was a scrape on my hand. It was a small square patch that looked like the upper layer of skin had disappeared. We were very busy and i didnt pay much attention to it until this Monday...when I really checked it out because it was so tender. I could see 2 red marks at the edge and the square spread out from those marks. Looking back, I realize i had headaches and poor vision a few days (went and had my glasses adjusted!) And I was irritable and touchy. I ve kept polysporin on it and its getting better but still oozing a bit in the center. Any idea what kind of bite this was and what we need to look for in our bedroom when we get back home? I have photos but dont see how to add one.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Kindly look and see whether there are two perfect bite marks. If there are 2 bite marks then we can’t avoid the possibility of a snake bite.

For allergic manifestation or itching of normal insect bite, you could use antihistamines like cetrizine overnight for 5 days. Make sure there is no chance for snake. Need more examinations.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
