Suggest Treatment For Injured Hamstring

I did a cartwheel into a split and pulled my hamstring. I had this injury for about 3 days. I ve stretched everyday since I ve had the injury but it still hurts when I try to do my gymnast moves. I m putting ice on it so the pain can go away. I have no bruising or swelling. I would like to know anything else I can do so the pain can go away faster and I can go back to doing cartwheels and splits.

hi there

The hamstring group of muscles are strong flexors of the knee. To stretch this you should keep your leg extended, so even while you're sitting down make sure you have your leg propped up on something so it stays in extension and allows a full stretch of the hamstrings.

You're doing well by icing it. The RICE protocol(Rest Ice Compression and Elevation) is important. As much as you want to go back to exercising I would suggest resting for 2 weeks which will allow sufficient time to heal.
