Suggest Treatment For Inflammation And Tenderness After Draining Cyst

i drained a sebaceous cyst on my friend s back and removed the sac as well so it will not return. it was only the size of a nickel and is just a little inflamed and tender from removing it. now there is a tiny hole from where i removed the sac and we cleaned the area with rubbing alcohol and bandaged it. will this hole be able to heal on its own and how long should that take?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The healing process might take two weeks or so. I suggest you to take:
1. T.Amoxicillin + Clavulanic acid (Amoxiclav) 875/125mg for 5 days
2. T.Diclofenac 50mg for 5 days
3. Fusibact (fusidic acid) ointment
4. Regular dressing with Povidone-iodine is needed
Kindly consult the surgeon for further treatment

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Indhu Priyadharshini, General & Family Physician
