Suggest Treatment For Infectious Endocarditis

I was diagnosed with Infectious endocarditis of mitral valve. I had undiagonsable infection for three weeks. After Dr. finally figured out the infection started the antibiotic they suspected endocarditis of mitral valve. They did a test to confirm this where probe was inserted through my mouth to view the valve. After infection was under control, they put me on an 30-day Penicillin course. After this course they did the test again to make sure minor growth has gone. It was gone. This was last year. Should I do any tests now or at certain intervals to make sure my heart is good shape? I am 43 years old. Thanks

Hi,

There is no need for specific tests, but I would advise you to have Echocadiography done once in a 6 months to evaluate mitral valve, if everything is normal in three consecutive echos, then it may be done once a year.

Take care
