Endocrinologist 's  Response
Hello,
I can understand your concern.
There is nothing to get worried. Hypothyroidism is very common in females and usually it has autoimmune origin.
The treatment with levothyroxine can bring back to normal the TSH level within 4 weeks of treatment. If treated correctly no side effects can occur.
During pregnancy it needs close monitoring of the dose.
External factors (diet, physical activity ect.) are not related to the disease.
Kind regards,
Dr.Mirjeta
