Suggest Treatment For Homesickness And Panic Attacks In A Child

Hi ! My child is 11 yrs and studying at class VI. He is very homesick. He does not want to go to school. School is a panic for him. Recently he has been suspended for not staying at school after school is over. Principal told him to stay after school hrs. for his punishment for talking in class hrs. But when his mother went to school for taking him, he bursted into tears and did not stay there. That is why he got punishment. He looked very tensed every time. Please give me suggestions.

Hi, thanks for asking.
In my opinion your child have anxiety due to which he has developed this school phobia. And punishing and making him stay back at the school will not hlep this situation. He will need counselling sessions an graded exposure to the school initially with a parent present.
I hope I have helped you
Thank you
