Suggest Treatment For Hoarse Voice

I had surgery on my arm a week ago and have had vocal hoarseness and some pain when swallowing pills. Can you recommend some things I can do at home to improve vocal quality as soon as possible. I am suppose to sing a song at a friends anniversary this weekend.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I can recommend you to do salt and water gargling. Use antihistamines such benadryl or citerizine and decongestants such phenylephrine to reduce congestion. Don't use your voice much. Warm water or soup can help.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka
