Suggest Treatment For Histoplasmosis While On Sporanox

I m taking sporanox. I was diagnosed with histoplasmosis, was on 200mg of sporanox, and was taken off remicade. My lungs are clear now, am back on Remicade but still on sporanox for 6 months as a precaution. My hair is getting very thin - hard to cover thin spots. Suggestions?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Medicine and illness could be the cause of thinning of hair, once the course of medicine finishes and the disease cured the texture or hair will come back to normal, in second thought hair root disease need to be ruled out although it may not be the cause, let finish the course of medicine and stop worrying.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Akhtarhusain, General & Family Physician
