hi,
thank you for providing the brief history.
A thorough neuromuscular assessment and musculoskeletal assessment is advised.
As has pain in the hip, she is diabetic and
obese, I will advice you to undergo
physical therapy as it will help her to reduce the pain, reduce the weight with exercise and reduce the blood
glucose levels.
Also, to understand that in
diabetes the major issue with the high blood glucose level. With exercise the levels can be reduces.
As the pain is in the high which travels up to the knee, it indicates the muscles are weaker and needs a strength.
Weight is also an issue here which may tend to apply more pressure on the hip and knee joint. So reducing the same will help to avoid pain and aches.
In my clinical practice I have seen diabetic patient with many much more complains. but they respond well to physical therapy and in about 3-4 weeks of time the symptoms are slowed down. Later the regularity is important to improve the overall health status.
