Suggest Treatment For High Prolactin Levels When Diagnosed With Pituitary Tumor
I have a pituitary tumor and I am seeing a doctor for it tomorrow. I have to see and endocrinologist and a neurosurgeon. I was curious as to what will happen at each appointment. I have never been to a doctor for this since it was discovered in August. My tumor is 12mm, and I have a high prolactin level. I was also wondering what kind of treatment they might suggest.
Initially medicines are used for treatment of increased prolactin level. Most commonly used medicine for treatment of increased prolactin level is bromocriptine. This is a very effective medicine for this condition. This is a prescription based medicine and a written prescription is needed to purchase it. Sometimes surgery is required to remove tumor when it becomes resistant to treatment with medicines. Consult your neurosurgeon for this purpose. He/she will better guide you. I hope this information will help you. I will be happy if you ask another question Thanks
