Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
About 2 weeks ago I was diagnosed with mono and had my blood taken a day before I was diagnosed. I had a decently high liver enzyme count that day. I then went to my actual doctor to have more blood work done. The results to this were a little higher. Just yesterday, 2 weeks after the last blood test, they had even gone up a little more. Besides being able to sleep all the time I feel fine. My doctor says that the high liver enzymes is more than likely the mono. Just wanted some more input! THanks
Hi and welcome to Healthcaremagic. Thank you for your query. I am Dr. Rommstein, I understand your concerns and I will try to help you as much as I can.
Yes, mono typically causes certain liver damage and high liver enzymes are expected even several weeks after mono is cured so you should not worry about this. There is no specific treatment but resting and taking painkillers.
