Suggest Treatment For High Fever During Pregnancy

Hi, My wife is currently in her sixth month of pregnancy and she has 104 F fever, cough, cold, flum and vomitting and doctor has advised to take Monocef-200. This is her second day of taking the medication and fever is not yet reduced. Can you please advise, all the family members are upset about her health condition and worried.

Fever is a symptom of an underlying disease. There are many causes of fever such as malaria, typhoid, infectious mononucleosis, TB, Dengue etc.
Advice
1.     Continue Monocef as suggested
2.     Hospitalization
3.     Paracetamol 500 mg per oral if fever occurs
4.     Cold water sponging if fever is more than 100 degree Farenheight
5.     Investigations
a.     CBC
b.     ESR
c.     Widal test
d.     Blood smear for malaria parasite
e.     Dengue NS1 antigen
