Suggest Treatment For High Fever, Body Aches, Diarrhea And Swelling And Pain Around My Wisdom Tooth?

Hello, I currently have a fever hovering around 101, body aches, diarrhea, and also a very stiff jaw with swelling and pain around my bottom left wisdom tooth. I tested negative for flu a and b and strep yesterday. I was feeling much better last night then quickly got worse overnight. I’m wondering if it actually is the flu or possible and infected wisdom tooth causing those symptoms. Plan on trying to get an appt today but not sure if should go to PCP or a dentist. Thank you, Heather

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to an infection of the wisdom tooth. I suggest to take anti inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the symptoms. I also suggest using a cycle of antibiotics such as Augmentin twice a day for a week. I also recommend to consult a dentist after the treatment.

Hope my answer was helpful. If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Regards,
